Jean Segura returned to the team Thursday following the death of his 9-month old son who died of an unexpected illness a week ago.
Segura is expected to be in the Brewers' starting lineup as he told team officials he is ready to get back to work. Manager Ron Roenicke said he will keep tabs on his starting shortstop mindset without constantly bringing up the difficult memories. Roenicke also said that Segura has full support from the clubhouse.
The Brewers enter the second half of the season in first place in the NL-Central by one game. After a good showing in the All-Star game, the team is stressing momentum.
Milwaukee will stick with the same rotation order. Kyle Lohse gets the start against the Natinoals in game one. Lohse (9-4, 3.26 ERA), will face-off against Nats ace Stephan Strasburg (7-6, 3.46 ERA).
First pitch is at 6:10.
