Sturgeon Bay youth ATV rider Gunnar Tebon has had to battle harder than ever before in the ATV MX National Racing Circuit this summer. After a number of mechanical problems to start the season, Team Culligan is trending back towards the top of the standings.
The four-time national champion is in more competitive classes this season and as a result, Tebon is facing much older competition. Riding in classes with boys that are two and sometimes three years older has been rewarding Tebon said. “It is a great challenge and makes me want to work harder than ever before.”
In the 90 Super Mini and 90 Open Senior categories, Tebon took first place last weekend at Briarcliff MX Park, located in Nashport, Ohio. He is now in second place in each of the divisions with just four races left on the nine race schedule.
Peyton Zimmerman, a 13 year old from Pennsylvania, leads the two divisions. Tebon trails buy just one point in the 90 Super Mini and by five points in the 90 Open Senior. In the 90 shifter Gunnar is in fourth place 52 points behind the Pannsylvania product.
