WIAA girls track and field said goodbye to one of the most decorated female athletes in the history of the sport over the weekend. Kennedy Blahnik broke her own state record in the discus with a throw of 161 feet and five inches to claim her eighth state gold medal.
A day earlier Blahnik won the shot put state championship to claim her seventh career gold medal in LaCrosse.
UW Madison will be getting an impressive student athlete in the fall when Blahnik joins the Badgers track and field team. She will throw the shot and discus and may add the hammer throw her freshman season.
