Brewers Lose in Extra Innings

The Milwaukee Brewers needed a win to split the four game series with the Cinncinati Reds Sunday, but the Reds fought back and won in extra innings 4-3.

Kyle Lohse left with the lead in the seventh inning and was in line for his fifth win. Lohse finished with 6 1/3 innings pitched, two runs, scattered eight hits and struck out two. Lohse remains 4-1 with a 2.72 ERA.

The Brewers bullpen gave up the tying run in the eighth and the game winning run in the tenth. Brandon Kinztler picked up a blown save and Tyler Thornburg took the loss.

Offensively, the Brewers got home runs from Scooter Gennett and Khris Davis. Jonathan Lucroy and Davis finished with two hits.

With the loss, Milwaukee is now (21-11). The Brewers are still the best team in baseball and will now get ready to host a nine game homestand starting with the Arizona Diamondbacks Monday. Matt Garza will start for the Brewers. First pitch is at 7:10PM.
