Green Bay Lending Packerland Teams Opportunities To Play Spring Sports

Fields are simply too soggy and in some cases still sprinkled with snow cover. So Door and Kewaunee County teams are looking for non-conference games in Green Bay and south. The Sturgeon Bay softball team played Green Bay West yesterday.

Emilie Jorns-Frisque belted a triple and two doubles and scored three runs to lead Sturgeon Bay to a 6-6 tie. Molly Bordeau pitched the first four innings and Hailey Benesh finished out the final four innings. The Clippers survived bases loaded with one out in the eighth to preserve the tie.

Today, The Sturgeon Bay soccer team is traveling to Green Bay Preble for a non-conference matchup. The Clippers are giving up home games for the opportunity to play. Athletic Director Pat Blizel feels they must make the move.

Kewaunee was forced to postpone their track meet for this afternoon due to poor conditions. A make-up date is dependent on consistent warmer weather.
