Youth Trap League Starts Tomorrow In Door County

The next generation of trap shooters and young hunters are invited to sharpen their aim tomorrow at the Door County Rod and Gun Club in Sturgeon Bay. The six week youth trap league teaches firearm safety and the responsible handling of guns.

Starting at 8:30 AM, local youth age 10 to 18, young girls and boys will be introduced to a sport that can be enjoyed for a lifetime.

Kim Welch is one of the organizers of the league and joined WRLU 104.1 FM yesterday to talk about the growing program. “No experience is needed,” Welch said. If a youth needs a gun to shoot with one will be provided. Including price of ammo and clay pigeons, the entire six week league costs just $50.

More information and permission slips can be found at gardnerreleclub.com or doorcountyrobandgunclub.com You can also contact Kim Welch at (920) 824-5111 or Jan Resler at (920) 743-3903.
