Kennedy Blahnik Adding To Her 1,000 Point Career

When you score 27 points in a regional final and another 28 in the sectional final your climb to 1,000 career points goes much faster. Kennedy Blahnik eclipsed the milestone last weekend in Waupaca during the WIAA Division 4 sectional final.

Kennedy and her family thought she needed 40 points in the state tournament to hit the milestone but after DoorCountyDailyNews.com probed Thursday, Algoma Coach Mark Zastrow learned she actually hit 1,000 last week.

Kennedy said she was pleasantly surprised to hear the news yesterday.

Blahnik Would Take Gold Ball Over 1,000 Points

Taylor Schmidt joined us along with Kiah Simon and Karissa LeCapatain during the broadcast Thursday night and each talked about how impressive the 1,000 point milestone really is. Taylor finished 52 points away from the milestone and said she was so happy for Kennedy.

The Wolves will need one more big performance from the senior tomorrow if they hope to hoist the gold ball on the floor at the Resch Center Saturday afternoon.
