Last Chance For Snowmobilers In Kewaunee County

Kewaunee County snowmobilers have until 6:00 AM Thursday to get their last trail ride in for the 2014 season. Sections one, two and three closed early this week. However, section four remained open.

The Kewaunee County Promotions & Recreation Department asks riders to consult the Kewaunee County Snowmobile Trail Map for the location of each section of trails before riding. That map can be found at www.kewauneeco.org/rec.

Director Matt Payette says, “Riders should also check our 24-hour information line before heading out if they have any doubts about trails being open. That number is (920) 388-7199. In addition, riders are responsible for checking trail conditions in adjoining counties before riding in those counties.”

He added, “Snowmobilers should be aware that they can be cited for riding on County snowmobile trails when they are closed. Hundreds of gracious landowners are responsible for the County’s 290+ miles of state funded and club trails. Please respect their property and privacy.”
