Packers Receivers Stay Loose In The Locker Room
By Nick Freimuth DoorCountyDailyNews.com

The Green Bay Packer wide receivers and defensive linemen have made post game interviews in the locker room much more enjoyable this season. A constant smile, a positive outlook and the occasional joke are a sign of the times. Green Bay is (8-1) and loving life atop the NFC standings.
This year's team is more jovial than any team in the past five seasons. Surprisingly, it is not Brett Favre leading the practical jokes and pranks in the locker room. The West corner of the locker room belongs to the defensive linemen. There is always a lot of chatter going on in this area.
On the north side of the room, sits the wide receivers lockers. James Jones, Greg Jennings and Donald Driver all sit next to each other. After Sunday's win over the Vikings, James Jones decided to start auditioning for his post-football career. He stepped in on an interview of Jennings and asked a few questions of his own.
(Audio Here)
Jones was holding his cell phone to his mouth while asking the questions and extending his pretend microphone to Jennings for his answers.
The Packers have a lot to be happy about this season. The team is gelling, no one is fighting at practice and a frown is rare at 1265 Lombardi Avenue this season.

No Contest For Packers
By Nick Freimuth DoorCountyDailyNews.com
November 12, 2007

The Green Bay Packers proved they are as good as their (8-1) record indicates yesterday against the Vikings. The 34-0 shutout was a spectacle of offensive balance and defensive intensity.

Packers middle linebacker Nick Barnett said this was a step in the right direction but not a perfect display. “There is more that we can do. We can accomplish bigger and better things than what we showed today,” said Barnett. From the start of the contest, Green Bay proved they were a much better team than the Vikings.

Brett Favre spread the ball around to multiple receivers finishing 33/46 on the day. He accumulated 351 yards, three touchdowns and no interceptions. Ryan Grant rushed for 119 yards on 25 carries.

The defense was led by A.J. Hawk who had his best game of the season. Third string quarterback and former Wisconsin Badger Brooks Bollinger was in for a long day against a Packers defense that was on a mission.

Green Bay will host the Carolina Panthers Sunday at noon. Packers football can be heard every week on 104.1 FM WRLU and 105.1 FM WSBW.

Packers Looking To Protect Home Turf Against Vikings
By Nick Freimuth DoorCountyDailyNews.com

After collecting their sixth consecutive road victory at Kansas City, Green Bay returns home to take on division foe Minnesota for the final meeting of the season series. Green Bay comes into the contest winners of 11 of its last 12 games. What’s more, the Packers are off to their best start since 2002 and stand tied with Dallas for the best record in the NFC.
The Packers look to win consecutive Lambeau Field games over the Vikings for the first time since 2000-02 when they took three straight. One of the NFL’s great rivalries, the border war between Minnesota and Green Bay has exhibited great parity. The two clubs face off Sunday for the 94th time, with Green Bay only holding a slight advantage (47-44-1) in the all-time series.
The series stood dead even at 44-44-1 when both clubs introduced new head coaches in 2006. Since taking over for the Packers, Mike McCarthy has won all three meetings against Brad Childress and the Vikings. It is almost expected that a Packers-Vikings game will come down to the final minute. Dating back to a Packers victory, 26-22, on Dec. 8, 2002, at Lambeau Field, the last 10 regular season meetings have been decided by seven points or less. Four consecutive meetings (2004-05) were decided by a field goal at the end of the fourth quarter.
You can listen to all Green Bay Packer football games on 104.1 Fm WRLU and 105.1 FM WSBW. The pre-game coverage will begin at 11:00 a.m. Kickoff from Lambeau Field is scheduled for noon.

The Kewaunee High School football team will travel to D.C. Everest today for a Round 4 WIAA Playoff football game. The team has averaged over 40 points per game this season and will look to keep their high-powered offense on track today against Chetek. The Heart of the North Conference representative is more of a power team in comparison to Kewaunee.
The game will be broadcast on 102.1 FM WRKU. Our pre-game coverage begins at 12:15 p.m. with the kickoff scheduled for 1:00 p.m. The winner advances to Camp Randall in Madison next Thursday at 4:00 p.m. All indications are that the winner would likely square off against Racine St. Catharines. 102.1 FM will be there until the last tackle of Kewaunee's amazing run for a state championship.
