L-C Keeps Winning Streak Alive

The Luxemburg-Casco baseball team continues with their winning streak as they defeated Green Bay Southwest yesterday 9-2. The Spartans capitalized on a few Southwest errors in the fifth inning to bring 4 runners home. L-C added another run in the following inning and 4 more in the seventh. Leading the way in hitting for the Spartans was Jordan LaPlant, who was 2x3. Justin Zellner and Eric Anderson were both 2x4. Craig Demmin pitched for the Spartans. He struck out 5 batters.

Southern Door took a tough loss yesterday. They were shelled by Green Bay West 21-4 after 5 innings. A huge first inning by Green Bay West put 10 huge runs on the board and the Eagles were never able to recover. Tyler Bretl threw for the Eagles.

Algoma defeated Gillett yesterday 8-4. The Wolves got on the board in the first inning, as Gillett pitcher Josh Yonker struggled to locate the strike zone, walking three batters and hitting one. Three runs came across the plate in the first inning. Algoma remained patient and added 3 more runs in the second, 1 in the third and another in the fifth. Eric Aackerman was the winning pitcher.

Manitowoc traveled to Denmark and defeated the Vikings 5-2. Both teams were tied 2-2 going into the eighth inning. Errors by the Denmark cost them the game. Leading the way in slugging for Denmark was Mike Pribyl and Matt Miller. The both went 2x3. Craig Hanson pitched for the Vikings.

Also yesterday, Sturgeon Bay defeated Green Bay East 2-1. Clayton Hanson pitched for the Clippers.
 
 
Algoma Girls Shut Out Gillett

In non-conference softball action yesterday, the Algoma Wolves shut out Gillett 10-0 in 5
 innings. Dayna Nell took the mound for the Wolves and struck out 8 batters. The bats were hot for Algoma yesterday. Shana Vandertie hit a 2 run homerun. Sam Zastrow and Jenny Haasch went 2x2. Lyndsay Swoboda and Amanda Zastrow were 2x3.

 
 
 
Bats On Fire For Sevastopol

In a huge outing for the Sevastopol girls softball team yesterday, the Pioneers beat NEW Lutheran 13-5. The bats were hot for the Pioneers. Lacey Weber went 4x4 yesterday and pitcher Courtney Kaye was 2x4. Cory Notz went 3x4 and added a homerun. Carissa Neinas was 2x4 and also hit a homer. Notz and Neinas each recorded 3 RBIs.

Southern Door traveled to Sturgeon Bay yesterday and took the win 5-2. Courtney Wautier took the mound for the Eagles and struck out 8 batters. Liz Neuman and Kate Klaubauf led the way in slugging. They each recorded an RBI.

The Algoma girls shut out Luxemburg-Casco 2-0. Lindsay Swoboda was the winning pitcher. Leading the way on offense for L-C was Gina Rubens and Stephanie Jubert. They both went 2x3.

Also yesterday, Denmark defeated Oconto 4-3.

 
 
Big Win For Southern Door

In boy's Packerland baseball action yesterday, Southern Door defeated Sturgeon Bay 12-2. The Eagles cane out swinging and put up 5 runs to start things off in the first inning. Leading the way on offense was Southern Door's Tyler De Bauche who was 2x2 with 2 RBIS and Tyler Bretl was 2x4 and earned 4 RBIs. Pitcher Joel Delorit went 2x2 and added an RBI. Delorit was also the strikeout leader with 11.

In Luxemburg yesterday, the Spartans beat Algoma 6-2. A few costly errors by the
Wolves in the second put L-C ahead. Leading the way for the Spartans was Eric Aackerman who was 2x3 with 1 RBI. Brandon Alexander pitched for L-C and struck out 6.

Kewaunee beat Gibraltar 6-3. Kewaunee's Brandon Luedtke, Alex Delebreau and Robbie Waecther stepped things up yesterday. Luedtke went 2x3, Delebreau 3x4 and 2 RBIs and Waechter went 3x4. Ryan Stuebs threw for Kewaunee. He added an RBI. Gibraltar's Marshall Larson pitched yesterday. He also went 2x4.

Sevastopol defeated NEW Lutheran 2-1 yesterday. Owen Hubner pitched for the Pioneers and struck out 6 batters. Relief Cody Leist came in and struck out 5 batters. Sevastopol's Aaron Hasenjager led on offense and went 2x3.

Denmark defeated Oconto yesterday, 8-5.
