Sturgeon Bay graduate and NFL middle linebacker Nick Greisen has resigned with his former team the Baltimore Ravens. The 28 year old signed a three-year deal with the team and will continue to back up mike linebacker Ray Lewis. Nick's contributions on special teams made him a commodity on the free agent market this off-season.
The Philadelphia Eagles and Ravens were in a bidding war for Greisen's services. He will be in his second season under the 3-4 defensive scheme. Nick was thrilled to hear that Baltimore wanted him back and worked out a three-year deal.

Greisen said the free agency period was a nerve wracking time. Numerous teams showed interest in the six-year veteran but only two franchises offered contracts. With Ray Lewis entering his thirteenth NFL season, injury is more of a possibility. The All-Pro has not missed a start since 2005. Greisen said he is in a great position to be Lewis's heir apparent.

Baltimore finished with a 5-11 record last season. Their offense and lack of a quarterback hindered the team’s success. There is hope however. The team was 13-3 two years ago and has a new head coach John Harbough.
Former Packer cornerback Frank Walker also signed with the Ravens this week. Greisen and Walker played together in New York. The two got along extremely well on the Giants' defense. In fact, Walker even had a nickname for the Sturgeon Bay graduate..."Greasy Greisen." The two will try to lift the special teams play and will be backing up some extremely talented players on defense.

The Luxemburg-Casco soccer program has gained so much popularity that parents created a club to show their support. The new L-C Soccer club is in full force and president Dave Vandenhouten is calling on everyone to join the club. He says soccer is getting to be quite popular at L-C.
(Audio Here)
With school boards juggling budgets and funding a constant issue for school districts, Vandenhouten and some other area parents thought creating an L-C Soccer Club would be a huge help. The club is made up of past, present and future L-C soccer players parents.

There are a number of activities planned for the L-C Soccer Club this year. Vandenhouten says the club will continue to run the concession stand at home games, host a 3 on 3 soccer tournament and organize an alumni game to bring more attention to the Luxemburg-Casco soccer teams.

Brett Favre jerseys are the number one sight this weekend at the annual Fan Fest celebration at the Lambeau Field Atrium in Green Bay. The event kicked off yesterday with an opening ceremony that featured Mark Murphy, Ted Thompson, Mike McCarthy and Packers players on the Atrium floor.
Fans are able to get up close with their favorite players, receive autographs and pose for pictures. This year's event also features a tour of the Packers locker room.
Today fans will have a chance to ask questions and receive autographs from players and personnel like Ron Wolf, Frank Winters, Mark Murphy, Donald Driver, Aaron Kampman, Antonio Freeman, Aaron Rodgers and Marco Rivera.
Favre's successor will likely be bombarded with questions regarding his confidence in leading this franchise. Each player takes the main stage for a question and answer period.
The event is great for the entire family. On the fourth level, inflatable mazes and football related games are simulated in "Kids Zone." The festivities will conclude later this evening. Packer’s officials said a Brett Favre tribute was not planned.
