Thanks to all 2012 Salvation Army kettle campaign participants:
Here is a big THANK YOU to everyone who helped with the 2012 Salvation Army Kettle Campaign in Door County. I was blessed and pleased to fill a record 419 two-hour slots this fall, and place more ringers than ever at six locations, raising funds for the essential emergency services the Army provides to folks right here in our county. I heartily thank the store managers at Main Street Market, Pick ‘N Save, Econo Foods, Walmart, Walgreens and Alley Katz Boutique for permitting ringers at their doors and housing the equipment after hours. A huge thank you to the heads of teams who organized folks from groups to ring, especially from Altrusa, St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, 4H, Masons, Forestville-Maplewood Lions, Sturgeon Bay High School, So. Door High School, American Legion, and to those many ringers who took multiple slots! I extend deep appreciation to the lady and gentleman who ran around the county emptying the kettles. And a huge thank you to all of you out there who deposited funds into the kettle or sent in donations by check! Because of this community-wide effort, proceeds from the campaign came in over $40,000, with an increase of 2% over last year! And in this difficult economic time! Way to go - all of you!
Although bell-ringing has drawn to a close for this season, the need for services provided by The Salvation Army is greater than ever before! Please consider a generous donation that may be sent to The Salvation Army, c/o Tom Mulinix, 509 W. Walnut Drive, Sturgeon Bay, WI 54235.
Looking ahead, I would appreciate hearing from more of you within groups (businesses, churches, community service etc.) or from individuals, if you are interested in ringing next fall. Please send an email to nakc@dcwis.com or call at 920-883-7886.
Again, thanks to everyone for a successful bell-ringing campaign for The Salvation Army in 2012!
