Next year, when Sturgeon Bay's Bayview Bridge is closed for three months, traffic will be diverted through the downtown business district. That presents Sturgeon Bay with an opportunity to make a good impression. To do so, the city has a few eye sores to clean up.
The visual image of one of America's most scenic areas is tarnished in the City of Sturgeon Bay with an abandoned gas station and several commercial buildings left in crumbling disrepair.
Landlords should be embarrassed.
Good corporate citizens have invested thousands of dollars making the city look much better. It's unfortunate a few bad apples own property that detracts from the image of an otherwise healthy-looking community.
City officials have time to crack down and clean up before thousands of people have their first impression of Sturgeon Bay determined by peeling paint, crumbling construction and abandoned buildings.
That's my opinion. I'd like to hear yours.
