Margaret (Annis) Wild

Margaret (Annis) Wild, 78, of Sturgeon Bay, died Saturday, (March 9, 2013) at her home following a brief illness with family by her side.

She was born November 4, 1934 in Crandon, WI the daughter of the late Emery and Dallie Ball. In 1953 she married Gilbert Annis Sr. and had three sons. He preceded her in death. She married Donald Wild in 1975, and he also preceded her in death in 1998.

Marge worked at Leathem Smith Lodge as a hostess and at Dorco Manufacturing. She also provided in home Respite Care, cleaned cottages for Woldts, and homes with Nancy Raye for several years. For the last 30 years she turned her attention to being the “tree lady” at Harry and Judy Porter's Tree Farm. She enjoyed the holidays on the farm helping families decorate for the holidays by either helping pick out a tree, or making wreaths and garland. She especially enjoyed the fact that she was able to live on the farm year round and enjoy the beautiful scenery and wildlife.

Marge enjoyed playing bingo and was a regular Wednesday nights at the Jaycee Hall. She was a little gambler who enjoyed her lottery tickets. She enjoyed gardening and collecting. Her proudest collection is her 1700 sets of salt and pepper shakers. She also enjoyed watching her other ‘boys,’ the Institute Cubs ball team, play every Sunday. She helped spearhead a drive in the early '90s to gather donations for a scoreboard at the Institute Town Park.

But most of all, she enjoyed the time spent with her ‘punkin,’ her Grandson Riley.

Survivors include three sons, Gilbert Jr., Rodney, Jason (Jennifer) Annis; grandson, Riley; sister, Joyce; sister-in-law, Alice; several nieces; nephews; cousins; and extended family.

Preceding her in death were her parents; husbands; brothers, Ray, Chuck, Leroy, Buck and Ronald; sisters, Betty, Ina, Eva and Dorothy; many brothers and sisters in-law; nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be held at 5:30 p.m. on Sunday (March 17, 2013) at Huehns Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay. She will be laid to rest at Bayside Cemetery.

Friends may call at Huehns Funeral Home on Sunday from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services at 5:30 p.m.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to those at Unity Hospice for helping to make her last moments as comfortable as possible. A big thanks as well, to various friends who came and stayed with Marge when needed.
