Ruth Florence Hackel, 87, Sturgeon Bay passed away at Pine Crest Village on February 16, 2013. She was born December 8, 1925, in Chicago, IL to Bertel and Christina (Sorenson) Nelson. On November 22, 1947, she married Frank Hackel in Chicago, he preceded her in death in August 12, 1985. Ruth was a Supervisor for Illinois Bell for several years. In 1977, after her retirement, she and Frank moved to their home in Idlewild which they had owned since 1961. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers and the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda and Robert Armagast, Green Valley, AZ. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Eleanor and infant brother.
