Norman Charles Soukup, 87, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on February 10, 2013, in Algoma, at the Long Term Care Unit. He was born on December 10, 1925, in Nasewaupee to Charles and Lillian (Oldenburg) Soukup. On May 29, 1946, he married Betty Feifarek at Corpus Christi Church in SturgeonBay; she preceded him in death on April 6, 2009.
Norman was a lifelong and active member of Corpus Christi Church. He retired after working for the Door County Highway Department for forty years. Norman enjoyed farming, hunting, fishing, and working on wood and metal projects in his shop.
Survivors include two sons, Tony Soukup, Sturgeon Bay; David (Lek) Soukup, San Antonio, TX; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one brother, James (Linda) Soukup, Sturgeon Bay; one sister, Mae (Harold) Jeanquart, Brussels; one sister-in-law, Charlotte Soukup. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, two brothers, Benjamin and Raymond; one sister, June (William) Peters and a sister-in-law, Ann Soukup.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 15, 2013, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with Rev. Carl Schmitt officiating. Entombment will be at the Shrine of the Good Shepherd Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay and after 10:00 a.m. Friday at the church until time of services.
