Kathleen Elizabeth Beno, 55, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away peacefully at her home after a courageous battle with cancer on September 9, 2012. She was born on July 9, 1957, in SturgeonBay, to Verner and Jeanette (Pigeon) Gillick. Kathleen married Craig Beno who preceded her in death. She worked for a number of years in the medical field, and most recently at Horseshoe Bay Farms. Kathleen was an active member of the Holy Nativity Episcopal Church in Jacksonport and enjoyed cooking, canning, gardening, taking trips, photography, and spending time with family and friends, especially her grandson, Brennan.

Kathleen is survived by two daughters, Stephanie Beno, CA; Holly Christensen, Sturgeon Bay; one grandson, Brennan Kruswick; fiancé, Bill Christensen; two sisters, Mary Ann (John) Logerquist, Sturgeon Bay; Darlene (Darreld) Krauel, Sturgeon Bay; aunts, uncles, cousins, many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Laura, Nick and Danica. Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents and her husband.

Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 15, 2012, at Christ the King Episcopal Church in Sturgeon Bay with The Very Reverend George E. Hillman officiating. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 13, at the Forbes Funeral Home in SturgeonBay. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in her name. On-line condolences may be offered at www.forbesfuneralhome.com.

The family would like to especially thank the Unity Hospice team, and the Vince Lombardi Cancer Clinic at Aurora Bay Care.
