Ruby (Delsart) Kostichka, 89, formerly of Door County died Monday, Sept. 3, 2012 at the Kewaunee Care Center. She was born March 5, 1923 in Door County to Albert and Milina (Splingaire) Delsart.
Ruby married Melvin Kostichka in 1944 at St. Mary's Church, Algoma, and spent her years as a farm wife in the Town of Ahnapee. As an accomplished cook and seamstress, she spent many happy years creating wonderful meals and sewing for her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her children Judy (Russ) Charles, Gail Herlache and special friend, Bill Doperalski, Tom (Mary) Kostichka, Sandra Finnel and Dan Kostichka. 13 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, three brothers and 4 sisters. She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin, two sons-in-law, Larry Herlache and Ron Finnel, one daughter-in-law Jean Kostichka, one granddaughter, Callie Kostichka, one great granddaughter, Julia Stangel, five brothers and 2 sisters.
Family and friends may gather at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma from 4 p.m., Friday, September 7, 2012 until the time of services at 7 p.m. Burial in St. Mary Catholic Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in memory of Ruby.
