Janice C. Haskell, 62, of Sturgeon Bay, was called home Friday evening (August 17, 2012) at Golden Living Center-Dorchester after residing there the past 2 ½ years and undergoing dialysis for eight years.
She was born April 29, 1950 in Red River, Wisconsin the daughter of the late Vernon Sr. and Armella (DeCremer) Thiry. Following graduation from Luxemburg High School in 1968, Janice attended the University of Wisconsin in Madison. On October 3, 1970 she married James W. Haskell at Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church. Janice worked for Econo Foods, Pick‘n Save, and Neighbor-to-Neighbor in Sturgeon Bay.
She enjoyed art and liked drawing, having shown at Miller Art Center. Janice also enjoyed reading.
Survivors include her husband, James; 12 siblings, Vernon Jr. (friend, Mary Ann Wery) Thiry of New Frankin, Nancy (Ronald) Vanness of Green Bay, Mark (Roberta) Thiry of DePere, Allen (Sue) Thiry of Casco, Carl (Vicki) Thiry of Green Bay, John Thiry of Stanley, Danny Thiry of Oshkosh, Marlene (Chris) Dantoin of Casco, Peggy (Jerry) Miesler of Luxemburg, Richard Thiry of Two Rivers, Douglas (friend, Sheri Kostka) Thiry of Algoma, Roger Sr. (Sherry) Thiry of Luxemburg; two sisters-in-law, Vivian Jacobe and Janet Haskell of Sturgeon Bay; many dear nieces and nephews; great-nieces and nephews; great-great nieces and nephews; aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday (August 24, 2012) at the Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church with Rev. Reeder Herrick officiating. Burial will follow at Shiloh Moravian Cemetery.
Friends may call at the church on Friday from 12:00 noon until the time of services at 2:00 p.m.
The family would like to thank the staffs of the Golden Living Center and the Sturgeon Bay Dialysis Center for their kind and compassionate care shown to Janice these past years along with the drivers who aided her in transport needs.
