Ruby Ann Fredrickson, 94, formerly of Sturgeon Bay, was called to her heavenly home on August 15, 2012, after a brief stay at Rennes Nursing Home in De Pere. She was born on March 11, 1918, in Yale, South Dakota, to Walter and Hattie (Zastrow) Pautz. On January 8, 1943, Ruby married Donald Fredrickson in Sturgeon Bay and together they owned Leathem Smith Lodge during the 1950’s and 60’s. Ruby and her husband enjoyed many winters in Florida together and touched and influenced the lives of many people who worked for them at the Lodge. Her passions included knitting blankets for others and doing crossword puzzles.
Ruby is survived by her three daughters, Nancy Lagerkvist (Bjorn Johansen), Sturgeon Bay; Gayle (Christan) Persson, Green Bay; Jeanne (Rev. Mark) Schulz, Bay City, MI; one grandson, Mark (Ann) Lagerkvist, Green Bay; and Ann’s children, Benjamin and Sophie Harpt; four granddaughters, Caroyln Schulz, CA; Alexandra Nickolai, FL; Lyndsay Nickolai, Green Bay; Laura Nickolai-Williams, Green Bay; five great-grandchildren, Matthew and Ava Lagerkvist; Emma and McKayla Williams; and Lilyana Labine; one brother, Vernon (Beth) Pautz, Northridge, CA. Ruby was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Donald.
Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, August 18, 2012, at St. Peter’s LutheranChurch in Sturgeon Bay with Rev. Mark Schulz officiating. Burial will be at Bayside Cemetery.
