Ida A. Ropson, 72, Algoma went into the arms of the Lord surrounded by family on Aug. 1, 2012. Ida was born to Edward and Helen (Willems) Bellin on Oct. 31, 1939 in Rosiere.
Ida married Larry Holub on June 18, 1960. He preceded her in death on Aug. 14, 1965. Together they had three children, Vicki, Brenda and Larry. Ida then married Dick Anderson on Sept. 6, 1969. They divorced in 1972. Together they had a son, James. Ida then married Harvey Ropson on Aug. 11, 1979. They have been married 32 wonderful years.
Ida was employed at the Algoma hardwoods for many years until her retirement. After that she worked at East Shore Industries as a senior aide until her battle with cancer began.
She enjoyed spending time with her family at the cottage. Some hobbies included collecting angels and photo ornaments.
Ida is survived by her husband Harvey Ropson, Algoma; two daughters, Vicki Walter and Brenda Goodwin (special friend Donny Zellner); two sons, Larry Holub, Oregon, WI; and James (Tracy) Anderson, Algoma; one stepdaughter Jane Ropson, Sturgeon Bay; eight grandchildren Heidi (Jason) Kloes, Kaukauna; Stevie Walter (special friend JoAnn Herman); Chad (Megan) Walter, Katie Goodwin(special friend Jason Yunk); Ryan Goodwin, Tyler, Hunter and Toni Anderson all of Algoma; two step-grandchildren Cory Clark and Nicole Clark both of Sturgeon Bay; six great-grandchildren; three sisters, Cleo (Kermie) Franda, Jean Hunsader and Adris Bellin (special friend Jim); two brothers Dick (Terri) Bellin and Andrew (Bernadette) Bellin; one sister-in-law Rose Tenor. Ida was preceded in death by her parents, infant grandson Frankie Goodwin, brother Alden Bellin, four brothers-in-law Ken Hunsader, Mike Alberts, Clarence Vandenack and Marvin Tenor; three sisters-in-law Gerri Bellin, Agnes Bellin and Evelyn Vandenack.
Family and friends may gather at the SCHINDERLE FUNERAL HOME, Algoma, from 4 - 8 p.m., Sunday, Aug. 5, 2012 and then after 10 a.m. Monday at St. Mary Catholic Church, 118 Church St., Algoma until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. with Rev. William Swichtenberg officiating. Prayer service 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home with Pastoral Minister Kathy Zeman. Burial to take place at St. Hubert's Cemetery in Rosiere.
