Bernadine A. Massart, 81, of Forestville, passed away at the Algoma Long Term Care Unit on Friday, July 13, 2012. She was born April 7, 1931, in the Town of Gardner to Edward and Gladys (Paque) Columb. On October 13, 1948 she married James Massart in Brussels. He preceded her in death on November 25, 2000. Bernadine and Jim farmed in the Forestville area for many years. She loved her animals and took special care of them. Bernadine also enjoyed gardening and reading. She loved and enjoyed being with her grandchildren and great-grandson.
Survivors include her three children, Cleda (Ronald) Schneider, Algoma; Randy (Toni) Massart, Forestville; LaDeana (Leo) DeClark, Forestville; four grandchildren, Lacie (Tim) Forbes, Sturgeon Bay; Kristin DeClark (special friend, Tim Feld), Algoma; Amanda (David) Desmond, Green Bay; Ryan Massart (special friend, Holly Weidner), Forestville; great-grandson, Parker John Forbes; sister, Cleda Jean (Donald) Friex, Sturgeon Bay; brother, Dale (Pat) Columb, Sturgeon Bay; special aunt, Virginia Kreft, Sturgeon Bay; sisters and brother-in-laws, Judy Zirbel, Maplewood; Margie Columb, Sturgeon Bay; Kenneth Seigworth, Sturgeon Bay.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Pat Seigworth, brother, Darrell Columb and brothers-in-law, Bill Miller and Bob Zirbel.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 18, 2012, at Holy Name of Mary Church, Maplewood, the Rev. Anthony Birdsall and Deacon Paul Zenefski officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Good Shepherd Mausoleum, Green Bay. Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay and then after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church until time of services.
