Jerry Wayne Schley, 78, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away at Ministry Door County Medical Center on July 9, 2012. He was born on March 27, 1934, in Algoma to Ervin and Ethel (Schroeder) Schley. He served his country in the U.S. Army from 1954-1956. On Oct. 27, 1956, he married Marion Vogel in Maplewood.
Survivors include his wife; 3 children, Barbara (David) Landowski, Sturgeon Bay; Jon (Ann) Schley, Brussels; and Patrick (Linda) Schley, Sturgeon Bay; 7 grandchildren, Jennifer, Kurt (Taylor), Joe (Rachel), Kayla, Jurrisa, Eric, and Hannah; 1 great-grandson, Landon; 1 brother, Leo (Eileen) Schley; 2 sisters, Dorothy (Leonard) Vasquez and Kathleen (Dan) Neururer. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 granddaughters, Karen and Kaitlyn.
A memorial mass with military rites will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 14, at St. Francis and St. Mary Parish in Brussels. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in Holy Name of Mary Church Cemetery in Maplewood. The Forbes Funeral Home is assisting the family.
