Germaine Marie Zahn, 85 years of Jacksonport, passed away peacefully with family by her side, on Wednesday, June 13, 2012 at Ministry Door County Medical Center.
She was born on March 8, 1927 to George and Marie Grovogel and then married Herbert W. Zahn on April 26, 1946. Germaine spent many years working for Doerr Electric in Sturgeon Bay where she eventually retired. She loved cooking, sharing laughs with her family and took great pride in her flowers. Most importantly, she was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother who will be sadly missed but remembered for her smiles, laughter and fond memories forever.
She is survived by her sister, Sally (Eugene) Kiehnau; dear nieces and nephews; her daughters, Linda (David) Burke, Suzanne Meyer, Roxane (Stacy) Marth; her son, Murray Zahn; grandchildren; David Burke, Todd (Stefanie) Burke, former granddaughter-in-law, Connie, Jim (Dawn Hallet) Meyer, Curt (Krystal Antholt) Meyer, Rebecca (Rick) Davis, Andy (Brandi) Paulsen, Cory (Nichole) Zahn; and thirteen precious great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death are her parents; husband; her brother, George Grovogel Jr.; and great-grandson, Denzel Yarbrough.
Friends may call from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday (June 17, 2012) at Huehns Funeral Home located at 1414 Michigan Street in Sturgeon Bay, WI.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, (June 18, 2012) at Stella Maris - Jacksonport site (St. Michael’s Catholic Church), with Fr. David Ruby officiating. Burial will follow at Baileys Harbor Town Cemetery.
