Jeanette "Jan" Meyer

Jeanette “Jan” Meyer, 82, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away at home on August 20, 2014. She was born on October 19, 1931, in Sturgeon Bay to Harold and Leona (Copiskey) Fairchild. On September 17, 1949, she married Vernon R. Meyer at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Juddville. Jeanette loved being outside, working in her gardens, and fishing. She enjoyed many years of bowling and then played bingo in her later years.

Survivors include her husband; two children, Dennis (Sue) Meyer, Juddville; Cindy Meyer, Sturgeon Bay; six grandchildren, Steve (Michelle), Jessica (Grant), Jenny, Phil (Johanna), Matt, and Brandon; four great-grandchildren; and one sister, Tina. She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Randy; one brother, Raymond “Buck”; and one sister, Vivian.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 26, 2014, at the Forbes Funeral Home with Rev. Timothy Malek officiating. Burial will be in Blossomburg Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorials may be given to Unity Hospice in her honor.
