Karen Marie Seiler

Karen Marie Seiler, 76, of Sturgeon Bay passed away peacefully at home on July 21, 2014. She was born in Sturgeon Bay on March 20, 1938, to the late Arden and Margaret (Hanson) Robertson.

Karen graduated from Sturgeon Bay High School and the American Institute of Medical Technology. She worked many years in the lab at Door County Memorial Hospital. Karen was a very active member of the Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church. For many years she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school and was active in Care Ministry. On April 18, 1970, she married Dale Seiler in Sturgeon Bay at the Moravian Church.

She is survived by her husband, Dale; one son, Kerry (Dana) Karcz, Clinton, IL; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Judie (Ed) Holladay; three step-children, Rick (Pam) Seiler; Mike (Marcy) Seiler; Susan (Paul) Mathias; and five step-grandchildren. Karen was preceded in death by her parents.

Friends may call on Thursday, July 24, 2014, from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay. A private family service will be conducted with burial at Shiloh Moravian Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Habitat for Humanity of Door County.
