Lorna Mabel Habeck

Lorna Mabel Habeck, age 85 of Kewaunee died on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014 at St. Lukes Hospital, Milwaukee. She was born on May 10, 1928 in Kewaunee, WI to the late Louis and Mabel (Zeitler) Schultz.

Lorna married Harvey Henry Habeck on October 16, 1948 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Montpelier. He preceded her in death November 13, 2001 after fifty-three years of marriage.

She was a lifelong member of Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church in Kewaunee, the Ladies Aid, OWLS and Altar Committee. She also was a member of the Kewaunee Homemakers Club and several Sheephead Card Clubs. They were blessed with five children. As the matriarch of the Habeck family, Lorna worked full time at home nurturing and caring for her children. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and playing cards and games with her family and friends. She is loved and adored by her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children: David (Gretchen) Habeck, Caledonia, WI; Grace Murphy, Milwaukee, WI; Greg (Gloria) Habeck, Kewaunee, WI; Karen (Ed) Henry, Aurora, CO; twelve grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by one son: Robert Habeck; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Alvin and Verna Doell and Hugo and Meta Habeck.

Friends may call after 4:00 p.m. Friday, April 25 at Buchanan Funeral Home, Kewaunee. A prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. by Pastor Michael Sullivan. Visitation continues after 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Immanuel Ev. Lutheran Church, Kewaunee until the time of services. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Michael Sullivan officiating. Burial will be in Riverview Cemetery.
