Edward Albert Strege, 32, formerly of Egg Harbor, passed away March 17, 2014 in Milwaukee.
He was born December 17, 1981 in Sturgeon Bay, the son of Ronald and Bernadette (Browning) Strege. Ed attended Gibraltar High School and was actively involved with student council, Spanish club, math team, A.O.D.A. Peer Leaders, and the golf team. Upon his graduation from high school, he continued his education at UW-La Crosse and graduated with a B.S. in English and a minor in History.
Ed experienced numerous places was able to enjoy living life around the country his first year after college. While in Vail, CO, he worked as a ski instructor, and during the summers, he tended bar at Husby’s and the Sister Bay Bowl, both in Sister Bay. Ed also lived for periods of time in Portland, OR, and San Diego, CA. In 2006, he met the love of his life, Megan Erickson. Three years later, they moved to Milwaukee. Ed and Megan were married the following year in 2010. Ed loved traveling, sightseeing, and being outdoors. Together, he and Megan traveled to New Zealand.
Ed was currently employed at the Old German Beer Hall in Milwaukee, where he was the Bar Manager. He also enjoyed history, writing, curling, golfing, hunting, and foraging.
Ed was an amazing husband, father, brother, and loyal friend. He was very intelligent and extremely proud of his family. The joy he showed with everyone was real. He treated everyone like family and allowed all to feel welcome.
Edward Albert Strege was the beloved son of Bernadette and Ronald Strege, and son-in-law to Mary and David Erickson, brother to Mettie, Sarah, and Ron. He lived in Milwaukee with his lovely wife, Megan Erickson, and loved son, Oliver.
Friends may call at Huehns Funeral Home on Friday March 21, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. A service of remembrance will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Frank Gaylord officiating.
