Edward Splingaire, 85, of Brussels, passed away at home on March 12, 2014. He was born December 3, 1928, in the Town of Gardner to Henry and Francis (Denil) Splingaire. On June 2, 1951, he married Virginia Amenson in Green Bay.
Edward worked as a diesel technician for International Harvester for 30 years. He also worked as a landscaper and snowplower for many years in the Chicago area. Edward enjoyed boating, snowmobiling, motorcycling, and fishing.
Survivors include, his wife, Virginia; 3 children, Carol (Roger) Zuder, Glendale, AZ; Gail McErlean (Michael), Brussels; James (Kimberly) Splingaire, Wauconda, IL; 6 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, brother, Gary (Ann) Splingaire, Milwaukee; 2 sisters, Margie (Glen) Berglin and Lena Reivitis, Green Bay; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, Clifford and Norman, 2 sisters, Sebel and Alvina.
Funeral services will be Saturday, March 15, 2014, at St. Francis and St. Mary Parish in Brussels with the Rev. Steve VandenBoogard and Deacon Paul Zenefski officiating. Burial will be in Stevenson Cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. The Forbes Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
