Janet Clara Anderson

Janet Clara Anderson, 85, of Egg Harbor, was called Home to be with her Lord Savior and was reunited with her husband, Elmer, Sunday evening, March 9, 2014, in Arizona, where she had been living since late October of 2013.

She was born November 17, 1928, in Peshtigo, the daughter of the late Ferdinand Howard and Eva Dellis Howard. Janet attended Sevastopol High School. She met Elmer Joseph Anderson in Door County and was united in marriage to him on June 26, 1948. Janet and Elmer were blessed with 64 years of marriage together, eight children; many grandchildren; and great-grandchildren. In addition to raising her family and taking care of the home, Janet worked side by side Elmer on their family cherry orchard, located in the town of Jacksonport, currently the site of Kurtz Corral. Elmer preceded Janet in death on July 30, 2012.

Earlier in life, Janet played in bowling and softball leagues in Green Bay. She was a member of the Windjammers Snowmobiling Club and was also an avid deer hunter and fisher. Janet was a wonderful cook, who always had fresh bread made. She also canned and was known for making delicious cherry pies. Together, Janet and Elmer would travel across the country with their motor home. She was currently a member of Community Church of Fish Creek.

Janet’s love will live on in the hearts of her eight children, Sharon (Mo) Mazregi of Phoenix, AZ, Al (Diane) Anderson of Green Bay, Beverly (Duane) Mikle of Tucson, AZ, Evelyn (Tim) Becker of Sheboygan, Cindy (Ronnie) Jashinski of Milwaukee, Steven Anderson of Egg Harbor, Wendell Anderson of Sheboygan, and Debra (Robert) Burton of Green Bay; 17 grandchildren, Mario Juco and Suemya Mazregi; Lisa Weibrecht and Jeremy (Patty) Anderson; Janelle (Jesse) Murphy, Joshua, Tony, and Michael Shutte, Becky and Randy Mikle; Alicia (Scott) Bergner; Peter, Nicholas, and Joseph Anderson; Jeffrey and Jerry Proski, and Robby Burton; 19 great-grandchildren; Alex, Lily, Morgan, Logan, Lincoln, Sophie, Austin, Autume, Tallion, Kerrianna, Hunter, Marcus, Athena, Amelia, Caleb, Kaden, Nolan, Evan, and Izabella. She is also survived by her six sisters and six brothers, Delores Blohowiak of Shiocton, Orvel (Vi) Howard of Green Bay, Audrey Clauseng of Appleton, Richard Howard of OK, Joyce Wojarowiz of Germantown, Harley (Betty) Howard of Sparta, Herbert (Debbie) Howard of Sturgeon Bay, Joseph Howard of Green Bay, Darlene Wiedenhoeft of Sturgeon Bay, Melinda Town of Madison, Wayne (Kathy) Howard of Superior, and Sylvia (John) Bolbett of Apple Valley, MN.

She was welcomed Home by her loving family: parents; step-mother, Clara Howard; siblings, Ralph Howard, Patrick Howard, Irma Brannsdorf, Anna Mae Resler, and Donald Howard; and brother-in-law, Gordon Blohowiak.

A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. (noon) Saturday, March 15, 2014, at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church in Ellison Bay, WI, with Pastor Chris Leonard (from Community Church of Fish Creek) officiating. Janet will be laid to rest in Egg Harbor Town Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., Friday evening, March 14, 2014, at Huehns Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay, and at Shepherd of the Bay Lutheran Church, Saturday, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service.

Huehns Funeral Home is assisting the Anderson family with Door County arrangements. Online condolences and guestbook signing may be offered on Janet’s tribute page at
