He was an avid brewer fan, enjoyed golfing, playing cards of all kinds, shooting pool, bowling and in his career he had seven 300 games with him being the first one in Algoma, and was a Packer fan. His proudest moment was walking his daughter Mandy down the isle the day of her wedding. Joe cherished the precious time that he spent with his grandchildren.

Joe married Cami Ostrand Sept. 28, 1996 at the Tanum-Forest Church.

Joe is survived by his wife Cami, one son Brian Burmeister, Luxemburg; and two daughters Melissa Burmeister, Sturgeon Bay and Mandy (Keith) Deschaine, Oshkosh; three grandchildren Madison, Mason and Zachary Joseph; one brother Larry (Shirley) Burmeister, Green Bay; one sister Lenore (Blackie) Deprey, Algoma; one step brother Richard (Mary Ann) Melotte, Algoma; and his mother-in-law Ann Ostrand, Sturgeon Bay and his mountain lion "Whitney".
