Dorothy Marie Van Duyse

Dorothy Marie Van Duyse, 81 years, of Green Bay, died Saturday (March 1, 2014) at Rennes Health and Rehabilitation Center in De Pere.

She was born December 1, 1932 in Manitowoc, the daughter of the late Rev. Roy and Klara (Nybroten) Walden. Dorothy graduated from Lincoln High School in Manitowoc in 1951 and attended Waldorf College in Duluth, MN and UWGB. Dorothy was married to Francis “Fritz” Van Duyse in 1954. They had four children. She was a talented artist, and along with being independent, witty, mischievous, liked to have fun. Dorothy resided on 9th street in Green Bay for nearly 50 years.

Survivors include her four children, Susan (Eugene) Heimbecher of New Jersey, Rebecca (Lap-pun “Thomas”) Lam of Chandler, AZ, Francis “Frank” (Veronica Coenen) Van Duyse of Seattle, WA, Sarah Van Duyse of Arizona; five grandchildren; her children’s father, Francis “Fritz” Van Duyse of Sturgeon Bay; brother, Philip (Rosemary) Walden of Arizona; brother-in-law, Robert Van Duyse; sister-in-law, Mary Jane Sorgel both of Sturgeon Bay; dear nieces and nephews.

Preceding her in death were her parents, Roy and Klara Walden; brother, Arthur Walden; and sister and brother-in-law, Ruth (Sonny) Haw; sister-in-law, Janet Van Duyse; and brother-in-law, Bill Sorgel.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday (March 6, 2014) at Huehns Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Groth officiating. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.

Friends may call from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Huehns Funeral Home and on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m.
