Jenna Baranczyk, 14, of Sturgeon Bay, died unexpectedly Saturday morning, December 14, 2013, at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay.
She was a student at Southern Door Middle School and a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Sturgeon Bay, active with the EDGE ministry. Jenna played volleyball, basketball and softball.
Jenna had a spunky attitude as she loved to entertain and make people laugh using her many voices. She was thoughtful of others and loved children especially her young cousins. Her love of young children was so deep that she already had plans to become a pediatrician and attend U.W. Madison like her older brother, Ben. She had a plan, studying hard, setting goals for her life, staying on the high honor roll at Southern Door. She was bright, organized, and for her it was the little details that made all the difference.
Jenna will be deeply missed by her loving parents, Bob and Jean Baranczyk; two brothers, Jake and Ben; sister, Abby; maternal grandparents, Marvin and Caroline Jonet of New Franken; paternal grandparents, Norbert and Sylvia Baranczyk of Green Bay; her Jonet aunts and uncles, Len (Jan) Jonet of Green Bay, Jerry (Donna) Jonet of New Franken, Diane (Doug) DuBois of Green Bay, Kristy Pedersen of Green Bay; her Baranczyk aunts and uncles, Don (Amy) Baranczyk, Mary (Ken) Gehm of Green Bay, Sue (Mike) Zittlow of Brussels, Wayne Baranczyk and Kevin (special friend, Becky) of Green Bay; her godmother, Amanda Thomas; her godfather, Doug DuBois; many dear cousins, especially her little buddies, Jack and Sam.
Preceding her in death were her cousin, Jared Gehm; and aunt, Debbie Gaestel.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Corpus Christi Catholic Church with Fr. Carl Schmitt, Fr. Anthony Birdsall, and Dcn. Paul Zenefski concelebrating. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum in Sturgeon Bay.
Family and friends may call from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at Huehns Funeral Home (1414 Michigan Street) in Sturgeon Bay with a prayer service to be held at 8:00 p.m. Visitation will continue at Huehns Funeral Home on Thursday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of closing prayers and the procession to church at 10:30 a.m.
A memorial fund will be established in her name for a student scholarship related to pursuing a medical related course of study.
