Ted (Theodore) Hoeppner

Ted (Theodore) Hoeppner, 94, of Ephraim, passed peacefully on Saturday, November 30.

Ted was born in Maplewood,WI on March 4,1919 to Augusta and Charles Hoeppner, proprietors of the local hardware store there. Following the death of his father when he was still a child, he and his mother moved to Ephraim, and he lived there until the recent years he spent in the Scandia Village Good Samaritan Care Center.

Ted taught school all over Door County, and following his marriage to Jeanette Eatough (deceased in 2003), worked for his father-in-law Lester at the Hotel Ephraim Resort. When Lester retired, he managed and eventually owned Hotel Ephraim, which was torn down in 1972. The Ephraim Condominiums now stand on that property.

Ted is survived by two daughters, Ann Koy, Wausau, WI and Sherry Donnino, Madison, WI. He has two grandsons, Ted and Andrew, and 4 great grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that any memorial contributions be made to the Scandia Village Capital Fund.

A “Celebration of Life” for Ted will be held in late spring, 2014.
