Dale Howard Buschmann, 85, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away at Ministry Door County Medical Center on June 7, 2013. He was born on June 9, 1927, in Sturgeon Bay to Carl and Mabel (Londo) Buschmann. Dale served his country in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On May 28, 1949, he married Ruth Kohlbeck at Corpus Christi Church.
Dale worked as a policeman in Milwaukee for 25 years and retired as a detective. After his retirement, he was the head of security for Bay Shipbuilding for 10 years. He was an active member of Corpus Christi Church, American Legion Post #72, and Neighbor to Neighbor Organization. He was also a member of the Milwaukee Retired Police Association. Dale was a man of faith and the most important thing to him was his family. He also enjoyed bowling and bird watching.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth; five children, Bill Buschmann, Albion, MI; Dick (Lynn) Buschmann, Milwaukee; Barb Buschmann, Sheboygan; Lynne (Doug) Farrell, St. Francis; Don Buschmann, Sturgeon Bay; eight grandchildren, Jane (James) Lowe, Steve (Laykthia) Buschmann; Jessi Baker-Buschmann, Dan (Kristin) Buschmann, Joel (Becky) Buschmann, Paul (Lisa) Dumke, Shaun (Amanda) Farrell, Kyle Farrell; eight great- grandchildren, Jaliyah, Areiyl, Nathan, Quinn, Logan, Troy, Nolan and Faith; a brother, Bob (Ilene) Buschmann, Sturgeon Bay; In-laws, Ruth Buschmann, Dorleen Buschmann, Phyllis Buschmann, Jackie Kohlbeck, Jerry Kiehnau, Joanne Teich, John (Lenore) Kohlbeck, and Joe Kohlbeck. He was preceded in death by his parents, a grandson, Cody Baker-Buschmann, three brothers, Milton, Darrel, and Norman; In-laws, Frank and Marie Kohlbeck, Rubert Kohlbeck, Carol (Herman) Splingaire, Loney Teich and Mary Kiehnau.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, June 10, 2013, at Corpus Christi Church with the Rev. Carl Schmitt and Rev. Anthony Birdsall concelebrating. Friends may call at the church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Neighbor to Neighbor or St. John Bosco Catholic School.
