Marilyn Marie Grovogel, 76, formally of Brussels, passed away on May 27, 2013, at Bishops Court in Green Bay. She was born on April 28, 1937, in Gardner to John and Dorothy (Delfosse) Willems. Marilyn graduated from Brussels High School and was the valedictorian of her class. On May 30, 1955, she married Arnold Grovogel in Brussels; he preceded her in death on July 1, 1991. Marilyn worked at Emerson Electric for a number of years and always rode to work with her husband. She also worked at Couns C Club with her sister and brother-in-law. Family was always the most important thing to Marilyn. She was a member of St. Francis and St. Mary’s Church where she was also a member of the Christian Mothers.
Marilyn is survived by five children, Mark (Tammy) Grovogel, Atlanta, GA; Connie Massart, Algoma; Joseph Grovogel, Brussels; Richard (Michelle) Grovogel, Merrill; Tim (Amy) Grovogel, DePere; nine grandchildren; two sisters, Carol (John) Long, Green Bay; Audrey (Darrell) Counard, Brussels; three brothers, Leland Willems, Green Bay; Cletus (Carol Jean) Willems, New Franken; Dennis (Sandy) Willems, Green Bay. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one son, Charles Grovogel.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, May 30, 2013, at St. Francis and St. Mary’s Church in Brussels with Rev. Pius Cotter officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay and from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services at the church on Thursday.
