Carolyn R. Pierzchalski

Carolyn Ruth (Michel) Pierzchalski, 79, of Bel Air, Maryland, and formerly of Sturgeon Bay, passed away peacefully on Sat. May 11, 2013. She was born on Jan. 4, 1934, in Union Grove, WI, to Francis and Neva (Crane) Michel. On March 10, 1951, she married John L. Pierzchalski in San Pedro, CA.

Carolyn graduated from Sevastopol High School and took art and economic courses at UWGB. She was a teacher of Arts and Home Economics at Algoma High School from 1974-75. Carolyn was a talented artist and distributed many of her paintings and crafts to her children and grandchildren. She was a homemaker, had a passion for reading and writing, watching old movies, playing cards, and watching the Green Bay Packers. For the last four years Carol was being cared for by her son, Steven and Mary Pierzchalski and their children.

She is survived by her children, John Jr. (Jackie), Sturgeon Bay; Sonja (Bill) Schuster, Sturgeon Bay; Susan (Randy) Pallex, Green Bay; Steven (Mary), Bel Air, Maryland; Diane (Gordon) Carmody, Forestville; Denise (Rick) Bissen, Sturgeon Bay, and Jeffery Sturgeon Bay; 21 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; 2 sisters, Donna Helman, of Texas, and Jeanne Chambers, of Michigan; sister-in-law, Esther Pierzchalski, Egg Harbor; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Frank Michel, a son, David, and granddaughter, April.

Private family services will be conducted with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery. The Forbes Funeral Home (www.forbesfuneralhome.com) is assisting the family.
