Diane M. Sternard

Diane Marie Sternard, 64, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away at her home on May 10, 2013, with her family by her side. She was born on May 17, 1948, in Sturgeon Bay to Reinhardt and Marie (Miller) Froehlich. On September 14, 1968, she married Peter Sternard at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church in Sturgeon Bay. Diane worked as a teller for Associated Bank for many years and most recently had been employed at Bay Pharmacy.

She was a life-long member of St. Peter’s Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School Teacher and was on a number of committees including the Outreach Committee. Diane was active with Relay for Life, the Homemakers Club, and enjoyed camping and spending time with family and friends.

Survivors include her husband, Peter; two children, Dan (Darcie) Sternard, Sturgeon Bay; Holly Sternard, Sturgeon Bay; three grandchildren, Sierra, Kiegen, and Kiana; one sister, Violet Schartner, Sturgeon Bay; in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, and other relatives; her DENP group, Edie Bushman, Norma Uecker, and Pat Wagner. Diane was preceded in death by her parents; one brother-in-law, Bill Schartner; and two nephews, Paul Schartner and Chuck Sternard.

Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 14, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church with Rev. Darrick Kolterjahn officiating. Burial will be in Forestville Town Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay and on Tuesday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
