Donald Lee Peterson, 67, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away at Golden Living Center Dorchester on April 30, 2013, with family at his side. He was born on March 24, 1946, in Sturgeon Bay to George and Bessie (Wilson) Peterson. Don served his country in the U. S. Army from 1965-1967. On May 7, 1983, he married Patricia Wery in Sturgeon Bay.
Don worked at P.B.I. for 30 years and most recently had been employed as a maintenance worker for Northhaven Condominiums. He was an avid hunter, a good bowler, and loved watching Badger Football and NASCAR. Don was a member of the American Legion, Post #72 of Sturgeon Bay.
Survivors include his wife; 5 sons, Martin (Michelle) Peterson, Topeka, KS; Ronald (Lorri) Peterson, Gatesville, TX; Keith (Fiancé, Lisa Gerdmann) Peterson, Sturgeon Bay; Tory (Becky Tess)Peterson, Sturgeon Bay; and Bandon (Fiancé, Niki LaPlante) Peterson, Sturgeon Bay; 7 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, siblings, Stanley Peterson, Clarence (Erin) Peterson, Alan Peterson, Pauline (Paul) Peterson, and Billy Peterson; and his horses, Flicka and Carmel. He was preceded in death by his parents, 1 son, Eric, 2 sisters, Ethel and Elaine, and a brother, Stanton.
Funeral services with military honors will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 4, 2013, at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Valmy with the Rev. Benjamin Enstadt officiating. Friends may call from 4:00-8:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, at the Forbes Funeral Home in Sturgeon Bay and at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
