Alan G. Sturdevant

Alan G. Sturdevant, 68, of Sturgeon Bay, WI, and formerly of Milwaukee, WI, died early Friday morning, April 5, 2013, at Golden Living Center-Dorchester.

He was born March 7, 1945, in Milwaukee, WI, one of seventeen children born to the late Wesley A. and Otiele W. (Reinholz) Sturdevant. After his education at West Division High School, Alan entered the United States Army and served until 1967. He moved to Sturgeon Bay in 1998 and had been employed with the Advocate Newspaper as the Mailroom Supervisor until he fully retired in January of this year.

One of Alan’s greatest joys and hobbies was to research his family’s genealogical tree. He had discovered nearly 8,000 names in his research of his family.

Survivors include seven siblings, Robert (Marge) Sturdevant, Sandra Jo Rabideaux both of Milwaukee, Bill Sturdevant of Sturgeon Bay, Georgette (Richard) Mihal of Necedah, WI, Paula (Patrick) Dailey of Milwaukee, Debra (Clarence) Meeks of Milwaukee, and Andrea (Hank) Czisny of Barnes, WI; many nieces; and nephews.

Alan was preceded in death by his parents; nine siblings, Joyce, Thomas, Wesley Jr., Audrey, Lorreine, Shelley, Pamela, Spencer, and Larry.

No public services will be held. Huehns Funeral Home is assisting the Sturdevant family with arrangements.
