Marjory S. Allingham

Marjory S. Allingham, 79, of Sturgeon Bay, passed away on April 6, 2013, at Ministry Door County Medical Center. She was born on Nov. 21, 1933, in Plymouth, WI to Armand and Clara (Fiebig) Stephan. On June 11, 1955, she married Edgar Allingham in Milwaukee. Marjory was the director of Open Door Tae Kwon Do Inc. and taught martial arts for many years. She was a member of the Door County Art League. She also taught painting classes at the Clearing and for NWTC’s Learning in Retirement Program.

Marjory was also a long time and active member of the Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church where she had served as an elder and a member of both the Stewardship Committee and the Worship Committee. She received the “Lifetime Service Award” at the Volunteer Center’s annual awards banquet. She was also named as one of Door County’s “Women Who Have Made a Difference in Door County.”

Survivors include her husband, 3 children, Jon (Baerbel) Allingham, New City, NY; Stephan (Brenda) Allingham, Eau Claire, WI; and Liesl Allingham (Terry Papillon), Blacksburg, VA; 3 grandchildren, Kyle, John Kenneth, and Huxley; 1 brother, Robert (Ruth) Stephan, Pebble Beach, CA; 1 sister, Elizabeth Nicodemus, Plymouth, WI; and a sister-in-law, Catherine Irwin, Shepherdstown, WV. She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Richard Stephan.

Memorial services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 28, 2013, at the Sturgeon Bay Moravian Church with the Rev. Dr. Matthew Knapp and Rev. Reeder Herrick officiating. Friends may call at the church on Sunday from 2:00-4:00 p.m. A memorial fund has been established in her name. Condolences may be offered at
