After its exploratory Expeditionary Learning year, the Washington Island School District is moving along with plans to implement its own version of the program.
Superintendent Tim Raymond explains EL is a program the district would need to purchase, however EL representatives recognized the potential in the district’s faculty and staff.
The program would have cost the smallest school district in Door County $51,000. Instead, Raymond is confident in his team’s abilities to develop experiential learning.
The Washington Island school board renewed Raymond’s superintendent contract last week and he looks forward to stimulating growth and sustainability over the next two years.
