The Randy and Renee Ebert family was named the Kewaunee County Farm Family of the Year during June Dairy Month. Pictured from left to right are Renee, Randy and two of their three children, Whitney and Jordan. Their third child, Britney was babysitting during the luncheon.
Randy and Renee Ebert started out with 200 animals in 1987 and are now milking 3,000 cows at Ebert Enterprises in Algoma. The Eberts were recognized as the Kewaunee County Farm Family of the Year Wednesday at a luncheon, complete with a farm tour and milking contest.

Randy is a fourth generation farmer who crops nearly 5,000 acres and keeps 40 people employed full time, while adding 20 seasonal part timers in the summer.
Renee says the Eberts are very proud to accept the award.
After the feast, DoorCountyDailyNews.com's Nick Freimuth and Paul Schmitt went head to head in a hand milking contest. Luck was not on Schmitt's side and he had to drink all of the milk in Freimuth's bucket.
