In this week's radio address, Governor Scott Walker applauds the Joint Finance Committee for wrapping up its deliberations on the proposed state budget.
"I'm pleased that the legislature's budget-writing committee has delivered more money for public schools," says Walker. "And nearly $1 billion in tax relief for the hardworking taxpayers of Wisconsin."

Assembly Minority Leader Peter Barca (D-Kenosha) delivers the Democratic weekly address saying the Joint Finance Committee made some changes to the proposed budget that made it worse.
"They voted to expand unaccountable private voucher schools statewide," says Barca. "They took a surplus built on record cuts to public schools from the last Republican budget and used it instead for subsidies to private schools and special interest tax breaks and other giveaways."
