The Bay Shore Drive reconstruction project in Sister Bay is moving along as planned.
The Village of Sister Bay has completed the design for relaying the utilities from Scandia Road to Gateway Drive and construction should start by the end of the year. Village Administrator Bob Kufrin says the Wisconsin State Department of Transportation will also be working on Bay Shore Drive.
The village’s portion of the project also involves relocating overhead power lines and Kufrin estimates the total cost of the project will be about $2 million. The village has resolved to use the proceeds from the sale of two properties during the downtown redevelopment.
Kufrin says the village should finish its part of the project by next April, while the state will finish up in the spring of 2015.
This Wisconsin DOT map shows which part of Bay Shore Drive the state will be reconstructing after the Village of Sister Bay finishes with the utilities in the same area next spring.
