An Algoma company is among seven businesses that have submitted applications to the Department of Natural Resources for Wisconsin's Green Tier program.
Precision Machine Inc. of Algoma is being considered for Tier 1 of the program, which encourages participants to find innovative ways to do business.
Companies submitting applications to the DNR must have a good environmental record, commit to superior environmental performance, and implement an Environmental Management System (EMS).
Precision Machine offers manufacturing services with the use of modern CNC machine tools and other support machinery to serve industries from aerospace and defense to forestry and fire fighting.
Other companies that applied for Green Tier status are American eLiquid Store; Madison Environmental Group, LLC; New Glarus Brewing Company; Phillips Medisize Corporation - Design and Development Center; Red Eye Brewing Company and Rosy-Lane Holsteins LLC.
The DNR will accept comments on these applications through May 28, 2013.
