Voter turnout Tuesday was twice as high in Door County as it was in Kewaunee County.
Door County Clerk Jill Lau says Door County had a 38% turnout. That compares to a 15% voter turnout in Kewaunee County, according to Kewaunee County Clerk Jamie Annoye.
Lau says the difference was likely because four of the five Door County school districts had referendums on Tuesday's ballot.
Kewaunee County did have one school referendum, but that was the Denmark School District, which only falls into part of the Town of Franklin and affects about 2% of the county's registered voters.
