A company that specializes in providing travel information has included Door County as one of its 10 Best Small Towns in America.
In selecting Wisconsin's thumb, Fodor's noted that while Door County isn't technically one town, it's "made up of notable small towns, each more charming than the last."
The piece also talks about "hamlets teeming with cute boutiques, upscale galleries, and working artist studios, along with natural sites like Peninsula State Park and the beaches along Lake Michigan."
Jon Jarosh, the Door County Visitor Bureau's director of communications & public relations says they're honored to make the list.
"Anyone that lives here or has visited Door County knows what a special place it is, and this sort of national recognition gives us a great opportunity to introduce our destination to travelers who have yet to experience the magic that is Door County," says Jarosh.
According to Jarosh, a few national media outlets have already picked up the story, and he has heard from others who have seen it on both the east and west coasts and in Florida.
