A pair of Gibraltar High School business students fared well in a recent state competition. Ben Anderson and Carl Witteborg placed 7th overall in the Sports and Entertainment Marketing Promotion Plan event at the State DECA Career Development Conference in Lake Geneva last week. The two juniors researched and developed a promotion plan for the Red Putter. Their written proposal and professional presentation earned a 99 out of 100 score. Their judge called their plan "very doable" and said the pair "know what they're talking about and have a very professional proposal."
The Gibraltar Business Association for Youth (GBAY) was also recognized for its outstanding contributions to the community. Only three schools out of the 148 chapters in Wisconsin were recognized for their Acts of Kindness. The award goes out to all the Gibraltar students who were involved in the Homecoming Hearts of Love and Balloon Sale for the Go Bo Foundation, the Jacksonport Thanksgiving Day Parade and Benefit for the Cure for Chris Cause and the basketball game Amazing Minute fundraiser for DOOR CANcer. Advisor Mary Witteborg applauds her students for their three ribbon commitment and knows these young people will continue caring and giving back to community.
