Door County now has 16 new tourism ambassadors. The 16 completed the Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) Program offered through the Door County Visitor Bureau. Graduates of the program learn about the county's local history, area attractions, useful resources, and customer service. The DCVB says the quality service and hospitality the ambassadors provide can result in longer stays and more visits to restaurants, retailers and attractions.
The most recent class was held on Wednesday, March 6 at Birch Creek Music Performance Center in Egg Harbor. Individuals who successfully completed their training were (Back Row L-R:) Larry Desotelle and Jodi Rass, Village of Egg Harbor; Brenda Sabo-Davis, Linger Coffee; Kiley Pagel, Beach Harbor Resort; Laurie Welch, Renee Walker & Katie Walker, Renard's Cheese Store; Michelle Anderson, Village of Egg Harbor; Sara Bacon and John Bacon, DC Adventure Center. Front Row L-R: Lynn Ohnesorge, Village of Egg Harbor; Tracie Yant, Renard's Cheese Store; Laura Bradley, Door County Visitor Bureau; Sarah Sawyer, Egg Harbor Lodge; Georgia Beutler, Liberty Square Shops and Mark Kunstman, Midsummers Music.
Since the program's inception in Door County in 2009, more than 450 volunteers and employees have become certified.
